Ministerial Visit

We welcomed the Hon. Dale Last MP, Minister for Natural Resources and Mines, to our Dalby South Yard, where he held his press conference on the future of Queensland’s oil and gas sector.

It was a genuine pleasure to host it here. From this yard we supply OCTG and its accessories to oil and gas operators across Eastern Australia, including the Taroom Trough right on our doorstep, so it made a fitting backdrop for a conversation about energy security, regional jobs and the supply chain that supports them.

Those products are part of what will underpin Omega Oil and Gas’s next drilling campaign in one of Australia’s most prospective basins. It’s work that aligns with the Queensland Government’s Fuel Security Plan and its goal of delivering energy security for Australia right here in Queensland.

Thank you to Minister Last, to Omega CEO and Managing Director Trevor Brown and the Omega team, to Western Downs Regional Council Mayor Cr Andrew Smith, and to our partners at IOR for a day that showcased what regional Queensland industry does best: real work, real jobs, and a real contribution to the nation’s energy future.
